Recycling Policy

**Please rinse your cans, bottles and any food off of recyclable materials. We follow all state and county recycling regulations.**

We cannot accept the following for recycling:

-Black plastics

-Thin plastics (such as berry or salad containers)

-Disposable plastic bags or plastic wrap.

-Paper beverage containers (because of the wax coating)

-Clam shell take out containers

-Plastic chairs

-Metal chairs

-Cardboard fruit boxes (because of the wax coating)

-Pizza boxes (because they have been contaminated with grease)

- Coat hangers

- plastic film or bags

- wood

-Styrofoam 

** Please keep the paper dry and separate from everything else in your bin. (Most customers achieve this by putting paper products in a recyclable paper bag or a reusable bag which we empty and return to the bin. A regular plastic bag is also acceptable, we will empty it and return the bag to the bin. **

Please flatten all cardboard boxes. 

Following these guidelines is not only the right way to recycle, but it will keep our operating costs low, which in turn will keep your monthly rate as low as possible. 

As of 2010 All Ulster County Residents Must recycle, failing to do so could result in fines by the County. Ulster County does and has all legal rights to check your cans at the curb prior to pickup and if we ( the hauler) are caught willfully accepting recyclable items in the trash, can be fined or even shut down.
